In 2013, a contact making seminar in Ireland funded by EU grants, led to a youth exchange being organised with St. Michael’s Youth Project, an Irish organisation. In August 2013, seven residents had the opportunity to experience a youth exchange in Dublin, together with other young people who attend St. Michael’s Youth Group. This was funded by the EU programme Youth in Action.
The exchange was held in an idyllic environment, surrounded by a forest and a lake. Several outdoor activities, such as kayaking, rock climbing, trekking, orienteering, were organised. Both the participants from Malta and Ireland had the opportunity to get to know each other through these activities, as well as through inter cultural events which were held in the evening.
The experience left a very positive and lasting mark on those who participated.
